Image compressor: reduce photo size without uploading
Drop up to 20 pictures, choose a quality level and get smaller files in the same format. Compression runs locally, so a private photo or a client mockup never leaves your computer.

JPG, PNG, WebP or AVIF, up to 20 files, 60 MB each
Your files never leave this device. Everything is processed in the browser, nothing is uploaded.
Picking a quality level
For photos, 70 to 80 is a sensible start: files are often two to five times smaller and the difference is hard to see at normal zoom. Screenshots and graphics with text hold up best at 85 and above. If a file is already well optimized, the tool keeps the original instead of giving you a bigger one.
Quality works differently per format. JPG and WebP use the usual lossy scale. PNG is lossless by nature, so below 95 the tool reduces the number of colors, then repacks the file with oxipng. At 95 and above PNG stays pixel-exact and only gets repacked.
Where compressed images help
Pages load faster, mailboxes accept the attachments, and forms with a 2 MB limit stop rejecting your scans. Smaller images also matter for ranking on mobile, where page weight counts.
Questions
Does compression reduce the resolution?
No. Compress keeps the width and height. To change the dimensions, switch to the Resize mode.
Why did my file stay the same size?
Some files are already tightly packed. When the result would be bigger than the original, the original is kept and marked as such.
Can I compress WebP and AVIF?
WebP yes, and the result stays WebP. AVIF files can be opened and saved again as AVIF, WebP, JPG or PNG.
Is there a size limit?
60 MB per file and 20 files per batch. Huge photos need free memory in your browser, so close other heavy tabs if one fails.
